Free Screening (Community organizations only)

We hope to screen "invisible elderly patients" who have not been diagnosed with heart disease in the community through free screening activities, and therefore launch the first free cardiac ultrasound screening programme in Hong Kong. The screening mainly targets the three major heart problems of elderly people over 65, namely coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation and valvular heart disease. The items include blood glucose, blood pressure, blood lipids, heart rate, heart valve problems, etc. Apart from free heart screening, participants also have the opportunity to meet with a heart specialist for free after the screening, so as to help early patients arrange referral or specialist treatment. To keep the disease from getting worse.

Intervention Subsidies Application

Patients with coronary heart disease have cardiovascular blockages that are like "ticking time bombs," which could lead to myocardial infarction due to severe vessel blockage at any moment. Patients can transition from non-emergency to emergency cases suddenly. "If a patient develops an acute myocardial infarction, the ambulance and emergency department services may delay timely treatment, making surgery more complicated and putting the patient at greater risk, even leading to sudden death." Therefore, our organization hopes to provide funding support to enable more patients awaiting angioplasty surgery in public hospitals to receive timely procedures, alleviating the economic burden on both the government healthcare system and citizens.
